FESTIVAL IRISH DANCE WORKSHOP COMING TO THE UNITED STATES.
In the past few years a little know form of Irish Dance from Northern Ireland has been making itself know to the world. Festival Dancing has been around for over 50 years, but until recently many have never heard of it. The popular BBC show Jigs and Wigs: The Extreme World of Irish Dancing, was the first to bring it to the attention of many through social media and Youtube. We can even thank the former Festival Dance Champion and lead dancer from Riverdance, Lauren Smyth, brought it to the attention world wide when she choreographed a slow slip jig that featured members of Riverdance.

Meet the instructor: Deborah Anderson
I started dancing at the age of 3 years and received tuition from three excellent teachers, Mrs Vourneen O'Conner, Miss Eileen Depo and Miss Geraldine Curran. It has been a privilege for me as a dancer to have competed in An Coimisuin and An Comdhail which is part of the Feis world of Irish dance. I have achieved Ulster and All Ireland titles through team and solo dancing.
In 1989 I entered into the festival dance world. Festival Irish dance is traditional, children are taught steps to connect and interpret Irish dance tunes. It is my desire to nurture and protect this style of Irish dance as it is being established through-out the world. It is my passion to teach, nurture and discipline my pupils to bring forth excellent dancing in solo and team dancing sections of the competitive dance world.
Deborah was featured in the BBC Television series "Jigs and Wigs" in early 2016. It featured her dance ministry.
Zephaniah Dancers. Christian Dance Ministry.
My pupils are trained to present the Gospel through the medium of Irish Dance , to bring forth the good news of the Gospel in a unique and dynamic way. My first love in the Irish dance world is the Zephaniah dancing it plays a vital role in the daily life of my dance school. The God given vision for Zephaniah dancing is to bring forth healing and restoration into peoples lives and for people to come into a true and living relationship with Jesus.
